It's A.....

Yep! We are expecting boy number 2 to join our family this April! So crazy!! When I found out I was pregnant with a little boy the first time (Bryce) I just started laughing because I couldn't believe that my girl body could grown a little boy body. Weird. This time I was surprised and well, happy of course. I will explain my emotions later. BUT first to explain the Pictures!

Because this is our 3rd!! say it again 3rd Child. {you mom's out there with 5 kids are like, yeah so what?}

Any how because this is our 3rd and we already have a boy and a girl, to find out the sex of this baby we decided to have a little fun. My sister introduced me to the idea of a "Cut the Cake" party. To pull this off, I had a friend in the Ultrasound department do a quick peek to see what the sex was. (Helps that I am a ER nurse and the U/S is just around the corner!) I however didn't look and she didn't tell me but wrote it down on a piece of paper long with a print out picture then sealed it in an envelope. I very obediently mailed the envelope to my sister. Over our trip to Idaho we had a little family party with mine and Brandon's family and Des, my sis, baked a cake that was colored inside either blue or pink. And then for the big reveal after votes were cast, I cut the cake!! Only to pull out a blue piece of cake!

It was such a fun way to find out what we were having and a surprise and fun gathering for all our family {except the baker ;) but she was more than thrilled to play the role...i.e. first one to know}

I was pretty surprised to find out that it was a boy for one major reason.

I puked my guts out for 17 weeks and was an emotional wreck for most of it.

SO for that past 17 weeks I have been imagining/dreaming of a girl and a fun little sister for Addison, thinking of girl names and pretty much assuming a girl. Why? Because I was EXACTLY the same way during my pregnancy with Addison. With Bryce, I think I was sick enough to throw up 2 times. Didn't feel good but wasn't emotional, and didn't lose any weight from not eating. With Addi, I lost about 20-25lbs. (I had a lot more muscle from V-ball) this one so far 15 lbs. but am eating more and keeping it down so that should be all!

When I found out it was boy I was not disappointed but well just not used to the idea. I have had a week to really get accustom to the thought of a little boy running around and feel so blessed.

I was just so content with having a girl because I want Addison to have a sister like I have. I have probably one of the most awesomest sisters in the world. I'll admit in high school we could have cared less about each other but we are best friends now. I love that relationship and hold it sooooo close to my heart, I just want Addison to have that in her life too.

I guess I should mention that Addison was 100 times easier as a toddler to raise and Bryce right now makes me want to pull out my hair. IT is No wonder, that I had my heart set on a girl.

BUT NOW THAT I HAVE BORN MY HEART OUT>>>

Understand that I am so excited for this little pumpkin. I can only dream of the catastrophes that him and Bryce are going to create! I love being a mother and am incredibly blessed to have these little spirits in my home. So little man! Welcome to the family soon! We love you already!

P.S. Any tips on boy names?! hehe

What a cute idea to find out! We had our ultrasound on Nov 17th and the doc is 70% sure its a boy!!! Two boys for me! I'm really excited but I also know that there is a 30% chance that it is still a girl. We actually have our 20 week ultrasound next week so we will find out for sure! I too was expecting a girl because I have been completely miserable this pregnancy and Cohen's pregnancy was the easiest ever!!! So I was pretty surprised! Can't wait to hear what name you pick out!!!! :) Congrats Aub! I guess you will just have to have baby #4 to get Addison a sister! :)

Hey Aub,
so I haven't posted it yet but we are having a boy too. Looks like you and I are just having the same pattern of kiddos. Congrats! I am so jealous you got to enjoy the snow in Idaho for thanksgiving, I have been so homesick for cool weather. Can't wait until these next 3.5 yrs. are done and we can have seasons again!

Aubrey!
i'm so excited for you!!
Jax was a thousand times easier than Haven. No.. make it a trillion. He is so low maintenance and cuddly and she's a dramatic fireball. So don't loose hope for an easy baby! :)
Isn't it so funny how everybody's experiences are so different?
Love you girl. As usual. Miss you.

This is awesome. just one more chance for our kids to marry. Addison and Michael, Brooklyn and Bryce, and now madison and I will just call him Mason because that is what came to mind. I felt the same way about having a sister for Brooklyn because I love my sister so much and wanted her to have that too! But Jeff assures me that we are not done having kids until he gets another boy. Anyway congrats Aub! That is awesome news!!

How exciting and I am so glad you got to cut the cake to find out, what a fun surprise. Des is a great friend so I can only imagine what a great sister she is. So happy you got to be together for Thanksgiving.

Soooo Exciting! I think it just depends on the child whether they are hard or easy, cause Allie is and always had been crazy hard. She has so much spunk and personality, it makes her so much fun to be with, bu so exhausting at the same time. We are struggling with the boy name thing too but I think we may have it narrowed down to 2 names! Good Luck

How exciting! I guess I am a little bias towards boys with two of my own. I will totally have to agree that boy names are some of the hardest. Gunnar was a given but Brecken was a tuffy. Good luck with that one. I've read about the cake reveal and I thought it was a cute idea. How fun!

Congrats!! That is very exciting!

Boy names are HARD. That's why we have girls, the boys would never get a name. Actually, our favorite boy name has been Bryce for a long time. So I'm sure you will come up with something great! ;)

Aubrey!

I'm surprised I haven't commented on this already as this is the second or third time I've read this post. Jacob and I are expecting our first at the end of June (YEA!!!) and I love the feelings you share so openly and honestly in this post. I have had a long-standing premonition about the sex of this baby we're currently expecting, and when I first read this post, I entertained the thought for the first time that my premonition was wrong. I must say I did not like it for an hour or so, but then made peace with it. It works out and the child that is meant to come to our family is the one that will.

Thanks for sharing and keeping us updated. I am so happy for you and your sweet little family! Lucky, lucky boy.
